Valenzuela to clear road wires
The Valenzuela City government has launched the "Oplan Linis Ganda Cable" project, aimed at clearing tangled cable wires, also known as "spaghetti" wires, from city roads.
This initiative was initiated by Mayor Weslie "Wes" Gatchalian, who collaborated with line workers from utility companies such as Converge, PLDT, Meralco, and Globe Telecommunications.
The project started on February 22 and intends to address residents' and motorists' concerns regarding hanging wires that pose a potential danger to them.
The clearing operation began on the city's main road, MacArthur Highway, last February 2, and discovered more cables in the barangays of Marulas, Karuhatan, Malinta, and Malanday. The project will continue until all the tangled wires are removed.
The city's Engineering Office (EO) stated that the wires removed from the electrical posts were returned to the utility companies. To avoid causing any inconvenience to motorists, the line workers aim to complete the project as soon as possible.
Residents have expressed their gratitude to the local government for prioritizing their safety and convenience, and with the removal of the tangled wires, they can enjoy a more aesthetically pleasing environment. Furthermore, motorists can have a safer and more efficient journey on city roads.
