Marcos leads groundbreaking of Valenzuela housing project
On March 27, 2023, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony of the 'Disiplina Village Arkong Bato' Phase 1 in Valenzuela City. The housing project is part of the National Housing Authority's (NHA) initiative, in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the local government unit (LGU) of Valenzuela City.
The Disiplina Village is situated in Barangay Arkong Bato and will cover a total area of 20,709 square meters, including the construction of 20 five-storey medium rise buildings, equivalent to 1,200 housing units.
The housing project aims to provide safe and affordable housing to qualified informal settler families (ISFs) living in the danger areas of Valenzuela City, particularly those residing along the Tullahan River.
The housing initiative is in line with the Marcos Administration's 'Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program, which aims to construct one million houses annually for the next six years.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by officials from the NHA, DHSUD, Valenzuela City LGU, and other government officials. The housing project is expected to be completed soon, providing a new home and a fresh start for many Filipino families.
