Pasig mayor visits Valenzuela
Mayor Rex Gatchalian welcomes Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Sotto in Valenzuela City, October 4, 2019 for a one-day benchmarking activity.
Mayor Vico, together with Pasig City officials, visited Valenzuela to learn about Mayor Gatchalian’s Five Pillars of Good Governance, 3S Plus Program and other best practices.
Mayor REX personally accompanied Mayor Vico to Disiplina Village Bignay, the biggest in-city relocation project in the country that can accommodate 3,852 informal settler families living along the Tullahan River, other waterways, and areas in the city that have been identified as “danger zones”.
The Pasig delegation also visited the offices located at the Valenzuela City Finance Building, the ALERT (Allied Local Evacuation and Emergency Response Teams) Center, the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital, the Valenzuela City School of Mathematics and Science, the Valenzuela Special Education Center, and the new Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela in Barangay Maysan.
Pasig City is a first class, highly urbanized city in Metropolitan Manila with 30 barangays and two legislative districts. It used to be the provincial capital of the province of Rizal before Metro Manila was established to become the National Capital Region of the country. Pasig City is primarily a residential and industrial area.
After winning the 2019 midterm elections, Mayor Vico said that his administration in Pasig City will focus on a platform that he called “The Big V” (Big Five) Agenda: universal health care, housing, education, anti-graft and corruption drive, and participative governance.
