Valenzuela introduces school feeding program
The Valenzuela City Hall held an assembly and orientation for principals from various public schools in the city on March 3, 2023. The event was organized to introduce the K–6 In-School Feeding Program, which aims to provide nutritious meals to students in public elementary schools.
The program was attended by Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja, Dr. Carmela Oracion, and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Meliton Zurbano. The officials emphasized the importance of the program in ensuring that students are healthy and well-nourished, which can improve their academic performance.
The K–6 In-School Feeding Program will be implemented in partnership with the Department of Education and the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The program will provide a nutritious meal to all enrolled students in public elementary schools, with priority given to those who are malnourished or undernourished.
The program is expected to have a significant impact on the health and academic performance of the students, as it will address the issue of malnutrition among school-age children. Through the program, the Valenzuela City government hopes to improve the overall well-being of its young population.
