Valenzuela kicks off Inter-Industrial Sports Fest
On May 2, 2023, Mayor WES Gatchalian led the opening ceremony of the Valenzuela City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (VCTIPC) Inter-Industrial Sports Fest held at the WES Arena in Barangay Punturin. The event aims to promote sportsmanship, unity, and healthy competition among the different industries in Valenzuela City.
In his welcome remarks, Mayor Gatchalian highlighted the importance of sports in achieving success both on and off the field. He emphasized the value of teamwork and camaraderie, stating that "sports are not just about winning, but also about building relationships and creating a sense of community."
The event was attended by representatives from various industries in the city, including manufacturing, construction, and service sectors. A total of ten teams will compete in various sports categories, including basketball, volleyball, and futsal.
The VCTIPC Inter-Industrial Sports Fest is an annual event organized by the Valenzuela City government, in partnership with the VCTIPC and the local business sector. The event not only promotes sportsmanship but also aims to foster closer ties between the local government, industries, and workers.
As the games begin, Mayor Gatchalian hopes that the participants will not only showcase their skills but also embody the spirit of fair play and cooperation.
