Valenzuela's Youth Development Alliance honored at national summit
Valenzuela City's commitment to youth development and education has once again been recognized as the Valenzuela Youth Development Alliance (VYDA) and the Valenzuela City Task Force on Out-of-School Youth were awarded during the 1st USAID Opportunity 2.0 National Youth Development Summit 2023.
Led by Councilor Chiqui Carreon, the VYDA and Task Force were awarded the Top 6 Excellence Award for Strategic Direction, as well as a Plaque of Recognition "for leading powerful collaborations between stakeholders to facilitate youth access to education, entrepreneurship and employment in Valenzuela City".
Additionally, Mayor WES Gatchalian was given a Plaque of Commendation as a Champion of Youth in Valenzuela City.
The USAID Opportunity 2.0 program is a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening existing systems to improve the education, employment, and livelihood outcomes of Filipino out-of-school youth. The awards received by the VYDA and Task Force serve as recognition of their dedication and success in helping the youth of Valenzuela City.
During their courtesy call with Mayor WES Gatchalian, the VYDA and Task Force proudly presented their awards and recognitions, highlighting their continued commitment to the development and empowerment of the city's youth.
Their efforts have not gone unnoticed and continue to serve as an inspiration to others in their pursuit of a better future for the next generation.
